A Gaudi Tour of Barcelona - Navigating Your Way Round the Most Famous Sights of Barcelona

Fascinating culture and museums, beaches and the Mediterranean Sea and some beautiful parks and gardens are located in Barcelona to explore - and not to mention the famous works of Antonin Gaudi, so highly regarded that 7 of 9 Barcelona are a world heritage site by UNESCO, The Reus-born architect. So watch with so many sights and attractions in Barcelona and so many books are guides, it is difficult to know which one to choose. Well, let me one of the greatest things on your listYour hands.

The best way is to see the main attractions of Gaudi to dedicate one days to one side, and this way you can ensure you see the main attractions, Barcelona has to offer, as well as taking in some stunning scenery and history at the same time. This also means that if you only have a short weekend in the city, you can then focus on another day of shopping or go to the beach, etc. I did this list of the sights of Gaudi in Barcelona live after preparation of9 years, and I think it's a really easy way to follow - and can be performed in any order.

Starting in downtown and the Old City, no visit to Barcelona would be without a stroll along the famous promenade of Las Ramblas walk "complete - the old river bed along the wall of the Roman city of Barcino, as the city used to be known. Palau Güell - recently reopened after extensive renovations in 2008 - is the first station, and with free entry is also worth a visitwhet your appetite for the coming day.

The next stretch is easily walk-able from Palau Güell, but also just as easy on the city's metro, and quicker. Take the green line a little further up Las Ramblas at Liceu and travel a couple of stops to Passeig de Gracia. As you leave this station, you'll see Casa Batlló - unmistakeably Gaudi, with its bone-like window frames, and dragon's scale tiled rooftop in homage to Saint George; the Catalan Patron saint.

Strolling up Passeig de Gracia is a wonderful experience and you could take a break in one of the various pavement terraces in the many cafes for an early lunch of tapas or a coffee break in the sun. Follow this road a few blocks away, and you are in the Casa Mila, La Pedrera, or arrive. Gaudi influence of his father, an iron merchant, as can be seen here in downtown Palau Güell, and now you are a real feeling for the style of the man and the genius. Casa Mila is deprived of a buildingof straight lines, and it's worth the ticket price, which offers a visit to a period apartment having a fantastic loft museum with original blueprints and a visit to the spectacular roof terrace for some amazing views and chimneys, like you've never seen.

A short walk in the neighboring district of Gracia you can take to Casa Vicens, which, although it is not able to enter another UNESCO site, the great menace of the neighboring buildings. If you prefer this one out, from holidayspend more time than planned on a different sights of the morning, then it is not a real disaster, do not worry. This is also on the green line (Fontana metro station), where we would go back and up to Vallcarca.

After leaving the subway station Vallcarca, escalators outdoors, take on the back of the Park Güell - backwards is indeed the best way around the park, as visiting all downhill in this way. This also means that you are the best for last - the ornate entrance to the storeHave seen Dragon Well you can find hundreds of postcards all day, and the great plaça with broken tiles, has become the icon, designed by Gaudi. This is also a great place for a picnic, for example.

Your last stop for the day is an easy, downhill, 4 blocks to perhaps the most famous works of Gaudi, and one that has been transformed into a symbol of Barcelona - La Sagrada Familia, or Holy Family Cathedral. This magnificent Cathedral attracts over 2.5 million visitors to payper year, and it is not even finished! You can spend a whole afternoon to visit the cathedral, and although the majority is in fact a construction site, it is a great museum in the crypt (Gaudi, where is buried), with models, photographs and other interesting artifacts. It is also possible to climb the towers and a photo of the environment, and discover facades. Then you become an expert for fun, but still a few more days to explore the rest of the city, too!
