Phuket Community Foundation race day

Alex & Jane: "We're here at the Phuket Community Foundation race Day in Laguna. There are lots of activities & races. Let's go race! Quack! Quack!" The Phuket Community Foundation or PCF, led by its president Assistant Professor Pranee Sakulpipatana, held its first charity fund-raising race day last Saturday November 7 at Laguna Phuket compound in the Canal Village. Students from Phuket International Academy performed amusing dances on stage during the opening ceremony The new Vice Governor of Phuket, Tirayud Eamtrakul, also came & gave a speech, joining other VIPS such as Michael Ayling, MD of Laguna. The Race Day was full of non-stop sporting & fun events for all the many visiting families. It opened on the laguna lake with watersports like a kayak or canoe race, where I (Alex) and our Andaman News producer joined up to compete with 8 other crews, some very fast & professional looking sea-canoeists, some just families or friends out for a laugh. The Dragon Boat races among local teams were exciting as they were cheered and drummed along the course. Later on they planned a cardboard box race & Muay Talay or Boxing over water, even with rainstorms forecast so everyone was bound to get very wet and keep cool. There were also many sidestalls with games set up by friends from other charities and community organisations, such as this QSI school water squirt gun game where I met Dennis & got wet again: "which activity are you enjoying?... want to use the water squirt gun? Sure ...

Thais and Tourists Remember 2004 Tsunami

Wong: Today's top story... four years have passed since the Boxing Day Tsunami in the Indian Ocean. Today hundreds of mourners and visitors in Phuket, Thailand marked the fourth anniversary. STORY: The governor of Phuket presided over the ceremony in Patong Beach. Survivors and victims relatives gathered at a monument at Loma Park which pays tribute to lives lost from the natural disaster. The mourners observe a minute of silence and offer alms in tribute to the souls of the victims. Many survivors returned to Phuket to remember the day and give thanks for their blessings. About half of the over 5000 deaths in Thailand were foreigners. They were residing or vacationing at the famous resorts of Patong Beach and other coastal provinces in the south. [Stephen Sumpion, British Survivor]: "We feel very sad, very confused. We didn't know what was happening at first. But then, as the day progressed, we found out there have been a big wave. We went up to the mountain and stayed up there most of the day. But then the next day we came back there was total devastation. But the Thai people got it all together and within a week New Year's went ahead. And I came back the next year to buy a house and everything was put back together. All of the shops were opened, all the roads were opened. Within a year, everything was back to normal." Some of the survivors took time to recover from the trauma, although many feel safe now. [Paulette Vandenwyngaard, Dutch Tourist]: "Yes I feel safe. At ...

My name is Jakob Chumtong. I am a 5th grade student at Rawai Progressive International School, at our Peace Day parade. Today (last Friday) at our school, Rawai Progressive International School or RPIS, we are celebrating the United Nations International Day of Peace. The purpose of this global holiday is to raise awareness of problems such as war, poverty, disease, animal cruelty and to promote world peace. As part of our peace celebration, we made peace flags and giant dove puppets from reused materials to fly in our parade. The dove has been a symbol for peace and love for centuries. Last Sunday, peace doves were being flown all over the world. In fact, there are many problems big and small. The solution starts with you. Here at RPIS, we are trying to make positive changes in three areas. These are the environment, animals, and the local community. At school, we recycle, compost, save electricity, turn off the water when we are not using it and throw all of our garbage in a trash can. We hope to educate people in the community to do the same. So, if you want to make a difference and increase the peace, the solution starts with you! Remember it is easy to make a ...

Allowing the Travel Dream

The travel industry is incredible. It is necessary to examine several possibilities for on-line filled. Just look at the multitude of sites devoted to travel on the web, in magazines, on TV and radio or. Advertisers bombard us with their "Best Price!, Exotic locations and the best deals." When you travel, what your main concerns? Is it the cost, or types of accommodation, or what we can do with the kids? Perhaps your trip is for business travel, which is completely differentConcerns as a holiday. Just be in a financial position to actually get away for short or long period, can be an advantage in those days.

The economy dictates so much of the details of a person has to consider whether to travel planning. Companies are rethinking the costs involved for shipping Associates or sales teams from the office with a new technique in comparison to Office Web conferencing perform. But I want to have to discuss mental vacation for this item. My question is thus not theInternet offer all the necessary options?

By searching the web, are the objectives of. Where in the United States can we go? Only one click and maybe skiing in Colorado or Utah, or playing golf in Arizona or Florida, or the many parks and natural resources in all states may invigorating. Perhaps it is for site-seeing in South America or Australia, walk on the Great Wall, visiting the winery in Portugal. Now that a fabulous trip would take. With technologyToday one can see "these areas on the Internet. The current economic situation makes this more an option at this time.

The volatility of oil prices this year, which is less today because of the greater supply than demand, there are effective ways to take costs may be to seek a kind of journey. If you lived in the western part of the United States to travel to the Rocky Mountains for skiing is viable. The amount of snow at many resorts in the past few years has, in powder formEyebrows and the nose swung ice cycles are truly within reach. Available in most lodges can still be found, although there may be some research. But the Internet makes it so impressive.

Or maybe your idea of getting away to a warmer climate would be. I know that the older I get, the more heat I can be surrounded, to be the less "snap-like" the bone. The weather in Phoenix / Scottsdale (not to mention the current enthusiasm for their beloved football) isswinging metal is ideal for those of frustration. Or Florida would be more practical because of their proximity. Can you imagine lounging on the beach along the coast of Florida? With winter weather, can such a strong notion intellectual exercise. Feeling the comfort of air over the tops of the ears, the riveting grainy sand your toes, and umbrella drinks, the color of the tongue. Can you just feel it?

Decisions, decisions.

So let us in this one moment. Each travel site I had clicked on many interesting excursions. One of the places, which I like to reach Portugal. Watching the European Golf Tour, which has a few events there, visit the desire has tingled. This part of the world interests me only. I went to Portugal online. What a trip! The scenes of traditional villages, through the narrow streets bustling cities, the expansion of vineyards scattered around the country. The view along the Atlantic coast with dramatic windsweptCliffs and sunlit backdrop, it is a dream that I have for budding.

See how easy the mental images and the power of the Internet can be complementary to actually make the trip? No, it's not like the real thing but it gives me the visionary motivation necessary to schedule a visit within two years.

Could conjure up a vision of serenity watching a sunrise through the unpacking of this bright red rocks, the vortexes to reach around Sedona, Arizona? The reflection of thered rocks from the water of Oak Creek at Red Rock Crossing is mysterious, energize the soul. This area has truly mystical sources of energy that could previously only be found on the prairies around the campfire after eating peyote.

Only a few mental exercises such as this one can plant seeds to plan a vacation or as simple outrageously exotic. Would you like to be able to put one on your 2009 agenda? Why not! We are not getting any younger. Many places we want to see and experience, evenBefore you begin, fill in a Bucket List, may, within the scope of a plan is provided, can be formulated. Now would be a good time to the mental process by starting online research ideas begin. This is the early stages of the planning process and is the best time to fantasize about exotic locations before wandering back to the practical.

Look for a journey you never imagined. The Web can give you this kind of entertainment, as we our imagination to flood so far awayinstead. Maybe our own little "Lost" adventure, with umbrella drinks, pool boy or doting scantily clad bunnies, clean beaches, gentle sea breeze with waves seduces us to sleep. Oh the dreaming mind can conjure now. Let your mind wander. Go to places mentally that you have always dreamed about. With this first step, the mental vacation, may, in the coming days, afternoons or evenings in the coming weeks to create a happier time. Since this is all about relaxing.

Let us nowtake a look at the coming year. Could there be a short trip in about the near future, for all of us? Or perhaps a shorter four-day trip in early summer. The ideas are abundant. For the treatment of us from time to time is necessary if most of what we hear or read is negative. Now, with the "hope" has been propagated that set for nearly two years and in force last January 20th, why not "HOPE" is a vacation in your future. Some would say that if we all spend a little more money pumping it to thethe economy, we could set things in motion. "Hope Springs Eternal".

Most people think they are not to believe in a position, a holiday is possible. You are choosing to hold out for some time to improve to things. Let us say that time can be on your side in order to plan a vacation. The time can save it to your page, and / or to do the necessary money. If a second income could encourage a journey, a goal within reach and to examine and to achieve this goal every opportunity. If you would be your dream tripan end goal, it could befits a variety of opportunities for research, and one can only achieve this dream sooner.
