The boat, carrying scuba divers, was hit by strong winds and waves. STORY: Thai police continued to search for six foreign scuba divers and one national today after a boat carrying 30 people sank near the island of Phuket. The navy says it will send a helicopter to patrol the area and will send a boat if something is found. The missing include two Swiss, two Austrians, one German, one Japanese and one Thai. Some 23 people, mainly foreigners, were rescued and sent to hospitals after being found drifting on a life raft. [Viset Ketphun, Thai Police]: "We have coordinated with embassies and asked them to inform the relatives of victims about what happened. We also sent the injured survivors to the hospitals and all of them are safe and have returned to their hotels."
