And today the provincial hall has got another brand new building beside it, which maintains the same attractive architectural style. Our reporter went to explore the building This is a typical but not ordinary monthly meeting of head officials in Phuket. What is different is that time they have a meeting in a brand new building, located in the same compound of the existing one. The two storey building is spacious with two meeting rooms which can accommodate up to 200 people. The meeting yesterday was considered as a trial session for the new facility. At present 4 government departments have moved in to use the building. They include the provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, and Social Development and Human Stability Office. The governor Mr. Nirun Kalayanamit said the new building will also be used as command centre in case of any emergency. Built with a 28 million baht budget, the Sino-Portuguese attractive architectural style is worth following and maintaining, both internally and externally.
